Over the last few years I’ve been really trying whenever possible to use all natural personal care products for myself and my kids, so I have more confidence in what (and more importantly what is not!) on our bodies that could potentially affect our health over time. When I heard about My Body Utopia’s products I was really intrigued. I love that not only are they using natural ingredients, they also are a small, family-run business, so I feel confident that every product is made with care, not mass produced in some huge factory!
With some difficulty I finally decided on the Tropical Mango lip balm and Citrus Delight whipped shea cream to try out. My daughter and I both absolutely love mango and I’ve never had a mango flavored lip balm, so I thought this would really be a hit. I love the scent of this lip balm – the mango really comes through and it just generally feels like a lovely blend that you’d find on some secluded tropical island! The balm itself is a bit waxy, but glides on very smoothly and leaves my lips feeling soft and smooth – what else can I ask for?
I absolutely love the whipped shea cream. I have two tubs of pure shea butter at home and it is one of my favorite ingredients to use as a skin moisturizer, whether for general dry skin, scrapes, or to soothe the seborrhea I get on my face, but it can be a bit unwieldy to scoop out a bit of the shea, since it has a quite solid texture. This whipped shea cream is much easier to use, because the whipped texture is smooth and silky, so I don’t have to work at getting a bit out onto my finger. The citrus scent is fantastic – slightly sweet and just really helps to wake up my senses and help me feel energized! My daughter loves both of these products as well – I have a feeling I’m going to have a hard time keeping them all to myself!
